This week I joined Oasis for an intimate afternoon tea with their autumn print collaborator, Peter Ting.
The award-winning ceramic designer has produced this pretty capsule line, Flutter, where his signature Chinese Hua Niao (flower bird) silhouettes are transformed into blouses, dresses and trousers, all in subtle inks, greys and greens.
Peter explained how exciting it was to work with textiles:
"Working with textiles is so interesting. I'm used to a wet, matte surface when designing with ceramics but with textiles, I had the opportunity to see my prints come to life. To see the prints, the birds move, is so lovely."
A spread of G&Tea cocktails (jasmine tea infused Plymouth Gin), traditional finger sandwiches, homemade scones, coconut parfait and honeycomb cheesecake were served on Peter Ting's pretty hummingbird china.
